Introduction

The official documentation for the stormsystems.org API.

STORM Systems, commonly referred to as STORM, is a Discord bot that started in March 2023. It protects Discord servers from rule breakers and community risks through the use of our extensive database and robust reputation system. Our community is able to submit reports about users violating any of Our Guidelines. This can be done on the Reports tab on our website.

API Access

Access to our API is given through unique API keys which must be requested via our official Discord server. To start this process, you must open an "API" ticket and explain as to why you want API access and what you will be using it for. Keys can then be granted, should an internal criteria be met, however can also be revoked at any time without warning or reason at the discretion of STORM Management.

Rate Limiting

Users can make up to 100 calls an hour to our API. Any excessive usage (or "polling") will be monitored and users may be contacted and ask to explain their usage, and suggestions may be made on how this can be optimised for both the user and STORM as an organisation.

API Usage & Application

Our API can be used to integrate STORM reputations directly into your platform. Whether you just wish to display someones reputation on their profile, or make certain things accessible only to those with no deductions and perfect reputation, the API can be used in a range of ways. For more about how our API can be used, please open a general ticket on our Discord.

API Misuse

Any misuse of our API will result in immediate termination of access and potentially further sanctions, including STORM points deductions.

Misuse counts as any excessive or malicious usage of our API, or any use of our API on platforms that may contravene our organisation values or deductions guidelines. All API usage is monitored and managed, and it is the expectation of STORM that all API users use data responsibly and securely.

Privacy Notice

Any usage of the API acts in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Our Promise.
